The EU LIFE+ CAISIE Project has developed guidelines to inform stakeholders on ‘best practice’ measures to effectively control six high profile aquatic or riparian invasive species present in Ireland. The guidelines are based on the experiences of the project in treating these species over the last four years in river, lake and canal environments.
Guidelines have been produced for the following species:
- Curly-leaved waterweed
 - Giant hogweed
 - Himalayan balsam
 - Japanese knotweed
 - New Zealand pigmyweed
 - Nuttall’s pondweed
